Our Purpose
Makeup once had purpose. Eyeliner wasn’t just for show — it protected the eyes from sun and dust. Turmeric wasn’t just brightening — it was cleansing, healing, sacred. Beauty began as ritual, not routine.
But. What once healed now harms. Mass-market beauty traded wisdom for shortcuts — ancestral knowledge for synthetic sheen. The Makeup Pantry exists to restore intention. To remind us that beauty was never just aesthetic — it was protective, purposeful, and alive.
This isn’t just clean beauty.

Why Ayurveda
Ayurveda is one of the oldest and most comprehensive systems of medicine, originating in India over 5,000 years ago. It is a highly systematic approach that draws from nature’s vast resources — plants, minerals, oils, and other natural substances — to support the body’s natural intelligence.
This knowledge has been passed down through observation, practice, and tradition. Women crafted their own beauty and healing tools with the same care, intention, and seasonality they used in preparing food. Every ingredient was chosen for its ability to heal and restore.
We follow this timeless approach, selecting ingredients known in Ayurveda for their ability to soothe, protect, and restore. Not just because they’re natural, but because they’ve been trusted for centuries to bring balance and vitality.

Our Process
We work slowly, in small batches, using hand-sourced ingredients grown with care and transparency. Each ingredient can be traced directly to the farmer through a barcode on every product. Every single ingredient also goes IISER Mohali, one of the biggest and most reputable testing labs in India.
We know all of our farmers personally, which means every ingredient is harvested with respect for both the land and its people. Each ingredient is chosen not only for its natural purity but for its specific purpose — to nourish, protect, and restore.
Lab Testing
We've partnered with GreenAffair and their advanced testing lab at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) in Mohali — one of India’s most respected research institutions. With their state-of-the-art facilities, every ingredient we use is rigorously tested for safety, potency, and integrity. This collaboration is part of our ongoing commitment to clean, transparent beauty that never compromises on quality.
